Abstract:

The talk will give a brief overview of virtual and augmented reality video research that I am conducting at Trinity College Dublin. This will cover the overview of virtual reality video technologies, the developed storytelling, acquisition, visual attention, postproduction, streaming, and quality assessment techniques for virtual reality video. Then we will focus on a state-of-the-art a visual attention-aware omnidirectional video streaming for virtual reality, which cover visual attention, quality modeling, and adaptive streaming technique for virtual reality video. The talk will be concluded with the ongoing research in augmented reality video.
